When told of the situation, city public works official Marcelo
Orta noted how the city tries when it can to make more minor
improvements to such problem areas, such as using a grinder to even
out the cement.

A resident informed the Pinnacle that a sidewalk and gutter at his neighborhood in the 1100 block of Sally Street has been “really uneven.” When told of the situation, city public works official Marcelo Orta noted how the city tries when it can to make more minor improvements to such problem areas, such as using a grinder to even out the cement.
But oftentimes, especially now with city finances so troubling, the money just isn’t there to make the improvements right away. Despite trying to replace little sections when crews can, said Orta, “A lot of people are understanding – a lot of people won’t understand.”
