152884~City should find a compromise on skate park—The City
Council’s decision to make riding bikes in the Daniel Yetter
Memorial Skate Park a misdemeanor crime is a perplexing quandary
for both local youth and leadership. Telling local bike riders
they’re not allowed to use the skate park without providing an
alternative is unfair.
You are so wrong about sharing the skate park with bikers. The skate park was built for skateboarders, not bicycles! The two don’t mix. Funding was from sources tied to skate boarding, not cyclists. One reason the skate park was built was to reduce damage to public and private property by boarders. That’s not an issue with cyclists.

Two separate needs skateboards and bikes), even without the funding issues.

Maybe the bikers need something for their use too, but it’s not the skate park.

By the way, I don’t like skateboards, wish the expense for the park hadn’t been necessary, and if they could be banned and outlawed except on the owner’s own property I would finally be happy. But that’s not reality and won’t ever happen, so the skate park is an (evil) necessity.
