Dear Editor,

The Hillside Development Regulations 34.50-2 states the regulation serves as a guide to perspective homeowners and builders to assist them in preparing a proposal for design of a new single-family dwelling, remodel of an existing home or the addition of an assessory structure.

It also serves as a guide for county staff and director of the planning department for approval.

I believe this is wrong. It gives too much authority and influence to the planning department as to what we do with our property and could prevent a family from building their dream home.
