The Friends of the San Benito County Free Library were selected
as 2008 Baker and Taylor Award winners. They will receive a $1,000
and a plaque. The group will also be recognized by the Association
of Library Trustees, Foundations and Friends at the Gala Author Tea
during the American Library Association’s annual conference July
13. The tea will be held 2 to 4 p.m. at the Fairmont in
Chicago.

Friends of the San Benito County Free Library will also be featured in the July issue of “The VOICE,” the Association’s newsletter and on the Web site, once it goes up. The group won in the category of Friends without paid staff with an essay by Harriet Brin that discussed the successful 2008 bookmobile drive and other activities.
