I hope you all had enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday! It’s getting so popular now days, I even heard some grumbling about it becoming a national holiday so everyone could take the following Monday off. I don’t know about that, but I do wish they would make it on Saturdays so people could recover from their parties on Sunday! In any case, we had a good day as did many others I’m sure.
Two baby showers honoring two South County new moms took place last Saturday. Jae Eade and Jamii Pura hosted a beautiful baby shower for Kyla Rianda at John and Jae Eade’s home. It was my first trip to Jae’s house and what a pleasure it was to be there. She has a beautiful home. Lots of people were on hand to help Kyla celebrate her day. Some of those Sierra and I got to visit with included Sandy Rose, Karen Whitney, Julie Rianda, Kristy, June, Wendy and Brooke Rianda, Jamie Reid, Joell Bautista, Nikki and Lila Bell, Jo Ann Scattini, Jeannie and Kelly Coefield, Stacy Scmidt, Lacy and Braydee Bourdet, Danielle Segura, Kristy and Lacey Bourdet and Danielle Craig, just to name a few. Baby Rianda received so many nice things that he or she will be outfitted nicely for many years so come. Baby Rianda is due on April 5th.
Vickie Sabin hosted a baby shower for her daughter-in-law Krista on Saturday as well. Her shower was held in Paso Robles and was well attended by many of Krista’s family and friends. Besides Vicki and Colleen, also heading down from our area included Lou Harbin and Tamra Barrington. Baby Sabin is due on April 3rd so there will be lots of new babies around South County in April!
John Wooster branded another set of his calves last Friday at the Crown W Ranch in King City. Helping him out were Ken, Vickie, Casey and Colleen Sabin, JW and John Brewen, Lee Whitney and me, Todd and Brody.
The Peachtree Ranch branded a small set of calves last Sunday at the Peachtree before Billy and Karen Whitney’s Super Bowl party. They saved a bunch of their smaller calves for the day so it could be a kids’ calf branding. Kids don’t get too much of an opportunity to learn to rope anymore so it’s nice when folks save some of their calves for the kids. Getting in some roping that day were Sarah Brewen, Wacy Barrington and Taylor Hurley.
