Conrad-Schulke
Erica Conrad, daughter of Leonard and Kay Conrad of Gilroy, was married to Steven Schulke, of Goodyear, Az. The wedding took place at San Juan Oaks Golf Course on Dec. 12, 2004. Steven is the son of William and Carol Schulke of Goodyear, Az.
Erica is a graduate of Humbolt State university where she majored in political science. She works at a natural fibers clothing store in Arcata where the couple met and now reside.
Eric and Steven honeymooned in Maui.
Dunn-Hernandez
Lora Dunn of Gilroy and Brian Hernandez of San Martin were married on June 18 at Svendal in Morgan Hill. Lora is the daughter of Ruth Dunn, of Gilroy, and Brian is the son of Ray and Debbie Hernandez, owner of the Morgan Hill Bakery. Lora is employed with the Morgan Hill School district and Brian works for A&M Electric. The couple honeymooned in Solomon Bay, Mexico.
Valdez-Green
Former Hollister resident Robert J. Valdez married Brandy Green, of Spokane, Wa., on Sept. 26. Robert is a San Benito High School graudate and the son of Nancy Oldham, of Hollister, and Patrick and Liz Valdez of Stockton, Utah. Brandy is the daughter of Robert and Lynda Engstrom of Colville, Wa. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.
Doty-Moore
David Doty, son of Donald and Connie Doty of Gilroy, married Eileen Moore in Forestville, Ca. on Sept. 7. The couple was married at St. Patrick’s Church. the bride wore a long satin gown with a floral tiara. She was given away by her brother Anthony Moore. The couple currently resides in Santa Rosa, where Doty is employed as an engineer for Medtronic.
Honors
Sue Dekalb
Gilroy resident Sue Dekalb recently earned an award for logging 750 hours in the American Quarter Horse Association Horseback riding Program. The program recognizes AQHA members for time spent with their horses in activities such as trail rides, working cattle, pleasure driving and simple riding.
Gheorghe Petre Nesinov
Gheorghe Petre Nesinov, of Gilroy, has successfully completed California Highway Patrol cadet training and has been assigned to duty at the San Jose Area Office. Nesinov is a graduate of Romanian Railroad High School in Brasov, Romania. He was employed as a material handler/residential electrician before joining the CHP.
Military
Sgt. First Class Tony Frank Jr., of Gilroy was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after 35 years in the service. During his time in the military, Frank was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Armed Forces Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
Engagements
Mr. and Mrs. Kurt & Mary Margaret Lanning, of Hollister, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lanette Krystal Lanning, to Cory Michael Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul & Debbie Thomas, also of Hollister. Both Lanette and Cory graduated in 2002 from San Benito High School.
Lanette is currently a fourth-year Architecture major at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, and Cory is a fourth-year Computer Science major at San Diego State University.
The couple plans on a summer of 2007 wedding in Hollister, were they plan on residing after graduating from college.
