Nancy Marie Tamez is engaged to Timothy McClellan.
Nancy is the daughter of Rudy and Maria Tamez of Los Banos. She is a 1999 graduate of Gilroy High School, a 2004 graduate of Gavilan College and received her Teaching Certificate in early childhood education. She is studying to receive her degree in early education for young children. Nancy is currently a nanny in Santa Cruz.
Timothy is the son of Randal and Betty McClellan of Watsonville. He is a 1993 graduate of Watsonville High School and currently works at Home Depot in Soquel as a department supervisor.
The couple plans a May 25 wedding in Scotts Valley. The couple will reside in Watsonville.
HONORS
Johnny Gurich
Johnny Gurich, of Gilroy, was named to the Dean’s List at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, for the winter quarter 2008. The Dean’s List recognizes students who have completed 12 or more units during the quarter with a 3.5 GPA or better.
Johnny, a senior majoring in kinesiology, plans to continue at Cal Poly to earn his teaching credential. He is the son of John and Maria Gurich of Gilroy.
Patrick Vance
Air Force Airman Patrick J. Vance has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Bill Vance of Gilroy and Diane Willis of San Jose. Vance is a 2003 graduate of Gilroy High School.
