Pablo Balancio

Pablo Balancio, a multimedia technician with Gavilan College since 2005 who became a permanent employee in 2007, is Gavilan College’s Employee of the Month.

Pablo is always willing to help and is very professional and knowledgeable. He gets pulled in many directions as one of the two multimedia support staff at Gavilan, and is positive and a pleasure to work with.

Kaylan Whitaker

Morgan Hill resident Kaylan Whitaker was among the more than 800 students who graduated from Bob Jones University earlier this month. Whitaker graduated with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

Located in Greenville, S.C., Bob Jones University is a biblically faithful, liberal arts university focused on educating the whole person to reflect and serve Christ.

Harmony Fletscher

Harmony Fletscher of Gilroy has received an academic honor at the 2013 McMurry University Academic Honors Reception held recently. Harmony received the award for Morris Baker Award.

McMurry University is committed to providing opportunities and experiences to ensure that every McMurry student achieves their maximum potential-in their careers, their personal relationships, and in their roles as moral citizens and contributing members of society.

Maegan Collett

Gilroy resident Maegan Collett has graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.

Azusa Pacific University is an evangelical, Christian university committed to God first and excellence in higher education.

Izzy Quistian

Financial Aid Department would like to congratulate Izzy Quistian as 2013/14 Karl Pister Leadership Award, which is $20,000 scholarship to attend UC Santa Cruz. Izzy will major in theater arts production this fall. 

Izzy was one of three Gavilan students nominated by President Kinsella for this prestigious scholarship. He was invited for a panel interview at UCSC and selected by UCSC Chancellor George Blumenthal.

ENGAGEMENT

Baggese/Bress

Lynn Baggese and Joe Bress are engaged to be married.

Lynn, daughter of Patty and Jim Baggese of Gilroy, is a 2001 graduate of Gilroy High School, and recieved a bachelor’s degree from California State University Sacramento, a master’s degree from Morehead State University and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from New York University. She is a registered nurse in New York.

Joe, son of Dr. Martin and Rhoda Bress of Gilroy, is a 2001 graduate of Gilroy High School, a graduate of Harvard College and received a master’s degree from Stanford University. He is in the financial industry in New York.

The couple are planning an Oct. 19, 2013 wedding at Leal Vineyards in Hollister.
