APTOS
A wet, turf field didn’t help the Anzar girls soccer team any on Friday in Aptos, where the host Mariners coasted to a 4-0 win over the Hawks.
“They had a home-field advantage with the turf and everything,” Anzar head coach Carlos Flores said. “The turf, we got used to it, but it was really wet as well, which made it tough and kept us off our game.”
Anzar, which trailed 2-0 at halftime, falls to 3-3 overall as a result.
The Hawks will return Tuesday when they will host Pajaro Valley in San Juan Bautista at 3:30 p.m.
