South County residents hit the rodeos
I hope you all had a very safe and sane 4th of July! We had a
very relaxing 4th of July which was very nice after being gone for
10 days.
We arrived home from Gallup, N.M. on Sunday night. It was a long
trip, but a fun one. Brody didn’t have any luck in the bull riding
there, but the memories he made and the new friends he met from all
over the world was well worth the trip. He drew two of the rankest
bulls at the rodeo, both of which ended up in the short go on
Saturday night. The boys that drew those bulls in the short go
didn’t last half as long as Brody did on them. It was quite an
experience, one that we will remember for a very long time. Thanks
to all of Brody’s friends and family members for supporting and
helping Brody along the way. We love and appreciate all of you!

Several South County residents spent the 4th of July weekend in Bridgeport at the annual Ranch Rodeo. Congratulations to the team of Dean Bell, Hec Hurley, Lee Whitney and J.W. Brewen for their team win at the rodeo. This is the second year in a row that Hec and Lee have been on the winning team. If they keep that up, they might not be invited back to Bridgeport! Others traveling to Bridgeport were the team of Andy Barrington, Rob Regan, Blake Willoughby and Rowdy Plaskett while Jeff and Shari Popnoe spent the weekend their visiting with friends while enjoying the rodeo as well.

Congratulations to Hollister resident Brendon Clark for his big win at his own PBR event, The Brendon Clark Invitational last weekend in Australia. Brendon and several of his PBR buddies have spent the last few weeks traveling around Australia hitting several PBR events while there. Hopefully that win will put Brendon back on tour here in the U.S. Brendon arrives home this week, just in time for his wedding next weekend to Allison Renz.

John Flook is home from the hospital and well on the road to recovery after his dangerous bronc ride during the San Benito Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo. Everyone is happy to have him back home and mending quickly.

The heat is on in South County now days as we’ve been well over the 100 degree mark the past few days. I think summer has finally arrived! Now maybe my tomatoes might start blooming.

Have a great week, try to stay cool and give me a call or e-mail me at we********@ao*.com with any news you’d like to share.
