A New Year starts
Happy 2010 everyone. I hope you all had a safe and happy New
Year’s celebration last week.
I was wishing the new year started off a wet one, but
unfortunately it did not. It’s been warm and dry out here in South
County these days. The grass sure is growing and it sure is green,
but another shot of rain would be nice. Maybe next week.
A New Year starts

Happy 2010 everyone. I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year’s celebration last week.

I was wishing the new year started off a wet one, but unfortunately it did not. It’s been warm and dry out here in South County these days. The grass sure is growing and it sure is green, but another shot of rain would be nice. Maybe next week.

Some schools are back in session now after a long winter break. Most Hollister schools are back to work while King City schools start next week. Just because they’ve been out of school, though doesn’t mean they’ve been out of sports, too. We spent several days traveling back in forth to basketball tournaments last week. The King City Lady Mustangs are starting to click as a team and starting to look really good. The Mustangs and the Lady Balers didn’t play against each other this year. That’s one game I always look forward to. Hopefully, next year they’ll meet up again. The KCHS boys’ teams traveled to Watsonville several days last week and they did very well, too. The JV boys were missing several players so they didn’t fare too well, but the freshmen boys did outstanding against some really big schools. The varsity team will be back in action this week. Looks like another busy season for us.

Lots of folks are taking advantage of the warm, dry weather as lots of brandings are starting to take place. The Topo Ranch will be branding most of the week, while Nessen Schmidt and John Bourdet will be branding some over the weekend.

Andy and Tamra Barrnington hosted a New Year’s Eve get together at their home. Some of those enjoying the evening included: The Brewen Family, the Sans Family, the Hurley Family, the Garza Family and Kenny and Valerie Reed.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday season. Now that it’s officially over, it’s time to get back to normal! Have a great week and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at
