Fall was definitely in the air last week as it was cool and wet for a few days.  Perfect weather for a nice fire in the fireplace.  The weather forecasters predicted rain last week, but, who would have thought they would be right this early in the year?  We had 0.02 inches of rain at our place.

The Bitterwater Lady Badgers volleyball team played two games last week. They won one and lost one but both were very exciting. The girls played last Tuesday against the King City, San Lorenzo Colts.  Kaitlyn Shaug from San Lorenzo dominated the game with her awesome serves.

Our girls were able to return many of Kaitlyn’s serves. But, in the end, the serving is definitely what cost us the game. Great game Colts, it was fun!

On Thursday the Badgers played the Soledad Trojans. The Trojans had just beaten the Colts so it looked like it was going to be another tough game for us. Our girls’ serves were on as the Badgers won the first two games to win the match. This week the girls will play in King City on Tuesday, then travel to Chualar on Wednesday.

Sunday was full of good football games as the day started out with Pop-Warner football in Soledad. Branson Umbarger led the 5th quarter Colts to another win, this one against Greenfield. Bitterwater’s own Edwin Mendoza made a few great catches, one for a touchdown and Buddy had a few good tackles on defense as well. Next week the boys play in Greenfield at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The two NFL games I got to watch were really good. Unfortunately the Cowboys couldn’t beat the dreaded Eagles, even though it was a great game. I do believe T.O. is going to be the demise of the Cowboys this season.  I don’t know why that guy thinks he’s so special. The Cowboys looked great the first half but then they really stunk in the second half.

In the late game, the Chargers looked good!  Since they are division rivals against the Broncos, I have to always root against them.

Birthday wishes go out to Gregg Johnsen who celebrated last Saturday, the 7th.

Have a great week and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at we********@ao*.com with any news you’d like to share.
