Easter celebrations South County style
Spring has sprung in South County! I hope you all had a
wonderful Easter, which was on such a warm, spring day. It sure is
pretty out here these days
– poppies and wildflowers are in full bloom and there is color
everywhere. None of it, though, is prettier than all the green
grass. Another shot of rain wouldn’t hurt to keep it green just a
little while longer!

Spring has sprung in South County! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, which was on such a warm, spring day. It sure is pretty out here these days – poppies and wildflowers are in full bloom and there is color everywhere. None of it, though, is prettier than all the green grass. Another shot of rain wouldn’t hurt to keep it green just a little while longer!

Bitterwater-Tully and Jefferson school students celebrated spring last Friday at San Lorenzo Park in King City. There was a huge Easter egg hunt, followed by lots of fun, games and a special lunch served to all the students, parents, family and friends. Many people were on hand to enjoy the day. Both schools are out for Easter break for the next week.

Birthday wishes go out to Kuulei Flores, who celebrated her birthday March 18, and to Jensen McFarland, who celebrated March 22.

Many Easter celebrations took place last Sunday in South County. The Schmidt family hosted their Easter celebration at the Romo cabin on the Topo Ranch. There were lots of eggs hidden for the younger ones and a delicious meal for all in attendance. The Guidici family hosted their annual Easter get-together at the Bluebird Splash near the Baumgartner Ranch and Kanani Barbree hosted a get-together for family and friends at her home. My sister hosted our family get-together in Salinas, so we all enjoyed a nice day up there. A quick hello to John Bunch, who informed me he reads my column up in Salinas every week. Hi, John!

All this warm, spring weather reminds me that the Salinas Valley Fair is just around the corner. Just a quick reminder that all livestock entries are due in today! Don’t forget to get your entries in!

Have a great week, and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at [email protected] with any news you’d like to share.
