Birthday wishes go out to a few South County folks who celebrated birthdays last week. Vern Scattini celebrated June 22; Jeanine Madson celebrated June 23; and Sandy Rose celebrated on June 26.

I forgot to write about a field trip that was taken a few weeks ago by the Bitterwater Tully School students. The school chartered a bus and went on a field trip to Alcatraz Island. The bus was loaded with students and their families who spent a few hours touring the island. I haven’t been there since I was a little kid and I sure enjoyed the trip. If you haven’t ever been there before, it is definitely something you want to see. The tours are self-guided and really interesting. The kids had a great time and I sure am glad I joined in on the trip.

There are plenty of 4th of July activities taking place this weekend. Be sure to be safe while celebrating your Fourth.
