Well, I don’t know about you, but I woke up with a bad case of the Obama flu last Wednesday morning. It was a bad day for conservatives, but, at least the longest Presidential campaign in history is finally over. Now, it’s on to 2012 and right now all I can say is “Go Sarah Go!”

Besides an upsetting election, other things were happening last week as well and the weather turned a lot cooler last week, making it finally feel like fall.

Helen Matulich branded her calves last Sunday at the Pine Rock Ranch. It started off really cold in the morning but ended up to be a pretty nice afternoon. Some of those helping out included J.W. Brewen and the girls (Candace included), Casey Sabin, Wyatt Bourdet and Lacey Taliaffero, Kyla Prunty, Doad Hext, Todd Sans, Paul Wattis, Ernie and Rose Prewett, Stan and Jeanette Sharp and George, Todd and Morgan Hansen.

Cynnie, Kassie, Shane and Sami O’Connor spent the weekend down in Cayucos, along with Steve and Debra Dodson and Savannah Hoss. Cynnie and Kassie were down celebrating Savannah’s birthday and Shane and Sami came by for a visit. Now that Sami and Shane are both off to college, Cynnie was happy to have all her kids back together for a day of fun.

Many schools took advantage of Veterans Day being on a Tuesday this year so a lot of students got a four-day weekend. The Kreibel Family headed to Webber Lake, near Truckee for the weekend and they took Brody along with them. Brody has never been to the snow before so he was excited for his weekend away.

Speaking of Veterans Day, congratulations go out to three high school students for having their speeches on Veterans Day chosen as winners from the VFW. Mariah Kessler won first place and $500, Rory Johnsen won second and $300 and Sierra Jo Sans won third place and$200. Many thanks to our veterans for all they have done for our country.

Bitterwater Tully School will be having a flu vaccination clinic at the school on Nov. 20. Anyone in the community who would like to receive the flu shot is welcome to come down, but please contact the school for a reservation. The Visiting Nurse Association will be conducting the clinic and they need to have a head count by Nov. 18. For more information, contact me and I’ll be happy to answer any questions.

Have a great week, and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at
