Christmas comes to South County
Can you believe it? Christmas is just a few more days away; I
hope you’ve gotten all your shopping done. If not, expect lots of
crowded stores and cranky people! The closer it gets to Christmas,
the crankier last-minute shoppers can be!

Bitterwater Tully School held its Christmas program last Friday evening at Tully Hall. It was a packed house with standing room only. Instead of doing a full Christmas production as they have done in the past, this year the students just sang Christmas carols and the boys did a short skit along with a song. It was a quick show, but very sweet and Christmassy. Everyone there fully enjoyed it. Some of those community members enjoying the evening included: Ruth Records and Roberta Oswald, Bill and Robin Rist, Alberta Rist, Joann Scattini, Lynette and Heidi Hurley, Jim Smith, John Brewen and Lou Harbin, Virginia O’Connor and Kuulei Flores. After the performance, a delicious potluck dinner was held, then, a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Birthday wishes go out to my youngest, Brody Sans, who turned 10 years old last week. That’s my baby, too. My how time flies. Brody celebrated by going bowling with friends Michael Kreihbel and Chase Barbree.

Kasey Hurley just returned home from a week in Washington visiting her sister. Hec was a single dad for a week and was very happy to have Kasey back home. I think he has a new appreciation for what a wife and mom does all day! I think all of us wives and moms should go for a week once in a while!

If you’re looking for something fun to do on New Years Eve, Earl and J.D. Escobar will be hosting the Second Annual Colin Coady Memorial Bull Riding event at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds indoor arena. The event will start at 6 p.m. and will include a silent auction that benefits the Memorial Fund, bull riding and a dance. It should be a lot of fun and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends, be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at [email protected] with all of your Christmas news. Happy Holidays everyone!
