Hollister HS Girls Cross Country

Sophomore Prienna Chavez finished 10th at the CCS Division I finals on Nov. 16 on the Crystal Springs course in Belmont, and qualified for the CIF State meet at Woodward Park Fresno on Nov. 30. 

In the Fresno race, which is 5,000 meters in length, she finished 88th out of 198 runners in the Division I competition. She moved up from 149th at one mile and 108th at the 2.1 mile mark. Chavez finished in 19:14.1.

Hollister HS Football (5-7 overall)

PCAL Gabilan Division honors went to several Balers. 

First-team accolades were earned by defensive lineman Christian Lujano. Second team honors were bestowed upon Tomas Salvador in the offensive line, Weston Aviles in the defensive line and to a trio of linebackers in Carmelo Arias, Toure Ajamu Jr. and Salvatore Tripp Felice. 

Honorable mention awards went to defensive back Savion Loza and defensive lineman Thomas Hawkins. 

Nathan Alves received the Sportsmanship Award.
