Students from across the county in public, private and home school education programs participated in the 16th Annual San Benito County Spelling Bee. First and second place spellers will represent the county in the state championships. Here’s a list of the winners:
Elementary Division
First Place:  Jacques Morin, a fifth grader from Sacred Heart Parish School
Second Place:  Chase Freeman, a sixth grader from Southside School
Third Place:  Luz Alvarado, a sixth grader from the Accelerated Achievement Academy
Fourth Place:  Brisa Mason, a fifth grader from Gabilan Hills School
Junior High Division
First Place: Julia Pearson, an eighth grader from Rancho San Justo Middle School
Second Place: Sean Slavich, an eighth grader from Sacred Heart Parish School
Third Place: Jennifer Rosas, an eighth grader from Rancho San Justo Middle School
Fourth Place: Jerimya Beltran, an eighth grader from Marguerite Maze Middle School
