On Thursday, the Lady Balers were able to sweep the host Eagles 7-0.

In singles, Hayley Barker topped Christina Wong 6-4, 6-0, while No. 2 Rachel Smith and No. 3 Kristina Slavich edged out the next two matches.

Smith beat Nia Casad 7-5, 2-6 and 10-8 in the third-set tiebreaker, while Slavich defeated Stephanie Rahiri 7-6, 4-6 and 12-10 in the third-set tiebreaker.

At the No. 4 spot, Audrey Marshall defeated Tiffany Huynh in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6.

In doubles, San Benito’s Vanessa Casalegno and Chelsea Yoakum upended Jessica Vo and Camille Herrera 6-0, 6-1, while Erin Glasspool and Alex Triolo beat Carolyn Bautista and Ann Daquiajo 6-0, 6-0. Danielle Dube and Alex Garcia took the No. 3 spot when they beat Khin Moe and Jessica Wong 6-2, 6-3.

Friday’s match against Notre Dame at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister didn’t go as swimmingly, though. The Spirits, behind three singles wins, edged the Lady Balers 4-3.

Notre Dame’s Auburn Carpenter beat Barker 6-4, 4-6 and 10-5 in the third-set tiebreaker, while Brooke Carrachioli took straight sets over Smith, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 3 Chanty Edwards defeated Slavich 6-3, 6-2.

San Benito’s Audrey Marshall was the lone singles winner when she beat Carmella Flores 6-0, 6-1.

In doubles, Casalegno and Yoakum remained unbeaten on the year when they won 6-1, 6-2 over Brenda Ponce and Lexi Flores, while San Benito picked up a third win when Glasspool and Triolo defeated Maria Karas and Megan Tuvero 7-5, 6-2.

Notre Dame managed to take the No. 3 doubles spot, however, when Kaitlyn Williams and Virginia Eastwood beat Dube and Garcia 6-0, 7-6.

San Benito is now 7-3 in the Tri-County Athletic League, 10-6 overall. The Lady Balers will host Salinas Tuesday at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister.
