Dear Editor,

The year 2004 is gone without us realizing that many have been born and many are not here any more. Some die before they have a chance, some grow up with illness, many die with bad diseases without a chance to enjoy their plans. Some live healthy and normal lives and with enough luck pass away in their own homes. There are others who end up in care centers, sometimes not with their right mind.

The ones who take care of them need to be honored. Many people have no idea what it takes to take care of the elderly. My wife and I took care of four elderly people. God works in mysterious ways. He made the world so perfect and we all have a purpose – presidents, administrators, doctors, lawyers, teachers, farmers, laborers, etc.

We have our armed forces all over the world endangering their lives to keep us free, to keep our rights. We see some of our leaders with black hair that soon turns gray from so much thinking. We have ones losing their lives to save others, including civilians, fire people, law enforcement, armed forces. There are ones that die in the ocean, on airplanes, fires, bombs, car accidents, etc. One thing we all inherit and no one can get away from is to die. Sooner or later it is our turn. It is good to be prepared as death might strike before we know.

I would like to die on the good side. For as long as God keeps me here and guides me I will not be afraid to speak the truth and I am not afraid to die doing so. And anyone who follows that has my sympathy. I think God leaves us all with common sense for what is right and what is wrong. Unfortunately we all fall sometimes. God fell three times when he took the cross to show us when we fall stand up and try again. This would be a great world if we all followed his commandments. As I said before it is not easy to be a saint but it is good to be on the good side.
