Police arrested three suspects after a burglary Monday morning at El Michoacano Restaurant on San Juan Road, according to the Hollister Police Department.

Police responded to the reported burglary in progress at the restaurant on the city’s west side at 1:38 a.m. Monday. They saw a juvenile female and adult male standing in front of a smashed window, according to a statement.

A police officer pursued the 16-year-old girl and caught her after a short foot chase, while a sheriff’s deputy chased 23-year-old Jose Ramiro Gutierrez, of Hollister, and arrested him on Madera Court, according to police. Police found a third suspect, a 17-year-old female, during a search of the business’ interior while she had been hiding under a table.

Police found more than $150 from one of the fleeing suspects, and evidence in the business showed they had been trying to steal beer and chips as well, according to police. Beer had been stolen in a burglary three days before, according to police.

Police recommended charges for the suspects of burglary, conspiracy and resisting arrest. They recommended an additional charge for Gutierrez of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
