Dear Editor:

On Nov. 30, thousands of residents were reminded of just why San Benito County is the greatest place to live in California. The people.

While a very few want to cast our beautiful county in the negative, many more want to see the light. And they came out by the thousands for Hollister Downtown Association’s Lights On Parade.

If you missed it this year, you missed thousands of children and parents with smiles as big as SBC, enjoying the life they moved here for.

These events don’t happen by accident. They happen because of businesses and people that want to give back to their community. Sponsors such as CD-93, Free Lance newspaper, Milgard Windows, San Benito Bank, Gavilan College, Greenwood Chevrolet, Community Bank, PG&E, Hollister Rotary, Candids by Kim Photography and many other local businesses.

The Hollister Downtown Association is also very fortunate to have hundreds of friends who, year after year, give our community the gift of time.

If you happen to see Tracey Belton, Pablo Balancio, Roblyn Yoldi, Michelle Perry, Denise Cauthen-Wright, Barbara Bauer, Geri Johnson, Frankie Munoz, Debbie Hudson, Diane and John Gibbs, Barbara Cosio, Tony and Paulette King, Romaldo Martin and Bob Baumgartner, give them a hug and say thank you for turning the Lights On, to show the real SBC.
