A car accident at Fairview and Santa Ana Valley Road at 8:38 a.m. Tuesday resulted in the death of a 21-year-old Hollister man.
San Benito County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Tony Lamonica confirmed that Trevor David Gonzalez died in the single-car accident that happened on the two-lane country road this morning. The sheriff’s department notified his family.
Lamonica did not have any information about the accident and said the California Highway Patrol would be conducting the investigation.
“We were out there on the corner,” Lamonica said, of responding to the accident.
The San Benito County Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the dispatch call came in.
“We responded to the call, dispatched as a single vehicle, possible rollover and ejection,” a spokesperson at the department said.
He said his department could not reveal any more information as the investigation is being handled by the CHP.
The California Highway Patrol was not available for comment Tuesday, though there was some information on their website.
CHP arrived on the scene at 8:57 a.m., after a white compact car went off the roadway, according to its website. The car is reported to have rolled over and it is noted that CPR was performed on Gonzalez.
No other information was immediately available.
