At 9 a.m. Tuesday for Veterans Day, local veterans organizations organized the hanging of banners at the Veterans Memorial Building and throughout downtown with names of active soldiers. Look back for more coverage of local Veterans Day events.

The Veterans Day celebrations honoring those who served this country will continue after the parade ends Tuesday afternoon.
Veterans and members of the public are invited to gather outside the Veterans’ Memorial Building for a special 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
“I think they’re honoring about seven veterans who have died in the last year and they will be inscribing names in granite on the floor over there,” said Parveen Sharma, a member of the San Benito County League of United Latin American Citizens Council.
The council hosted a special breakfast honoring veterans earlier on Veterans Day.
