Hundreds of people came out to the Veterans Memorial Building in 2011 to take part in the 9/11 ceremony to honor those who lost their lives in the attacks.

Local chapters of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion are hosting a Sept. 11 ceremony this year.
VFW Post 9242 and American Legion Post 69 will host a brief ceremony to honor Sept. 11 first responders. It is set for 4 p.m. Thursday in the front of the Veterans Memorial Building and will last about 20 minutes, according to an announcement from the groups.
VFW Post Commander Bernie Ramirez will recognize responders from Hollister public safety agencies, along with other speakers. There will be an honor guard portion of the ceremony as well.
For more information, contact Ramirez at (831) 902-7811 or bp********@gm***.com.
