There are three key words I would like you to keep in mind as
you decide who merits your support for Supervisor in District
2.
EXPERIENCE: I have many years of experience working with local
community organizations and the important issues that face San
Benito County. As the owner of a family farm and a partner in a
fruit packing business, I have the necessary business experience to
properly manage our tax dollars. I served as a firefighter for both
the Hollister and San Juan Bautista fire departments.
There are three key words I would like you to keep in mind as you decide who merits your support for Supervisor in District 2.
EXPERIENCE: I have many years of experience working with local community organizations and the important issues that face San Benito County. As the owner of a family farm and a partner in a fruit packing business, I have the necessary business experience to properly manage our tax dollars. I served as a firefighter for both the Hollister and San Juan Bautista fire departments.
LEADERSHIP: My extensive involvement in the community shows a history of leadership. I have served on the San Benito County Planning Commission, San Benito County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Technical Advisory Committee for the Ground Water Management Plan for the County Water District. I am currently serving on the Aromas/San Juan Unified School District Citizens Bond Oversight Committee, San Benito County Resource Conservation District and am a proud member of the San Juan Service Club.
As a member of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors and currently past president, I have worked on important issues for our community on both the local and state levels. Locally, I have been a major voice in protecting our water resources and farmland preservation. This includes properly managing growth and the Highway 156 issue. At the state level, I have worked hard in contributing to policies that protect agriculture from imports and excessive government regulations that destroy family farms.
My many years of running a business and community involvement has given me the confidence, experience and leadership to be an effective supervisor for you.
OPTIMISM: We can all agree that the current leadership has led our county down a rocky road. With this election, you have the opportunity to dramatically change the Board of Supervisors, smoothing the road for the future of our community. I am optimistic that with competent leadership, we can bring back accountability and integrity to our county government.
I am optimistic that with good leadership we can properly manage growth and promote a more diverse economy that will bring good jobs to San Benito County without sacrificing the characteristics that make our county so special. With experience, leadership and optimism, our community can work together to form the coalitions and partnerships we need to manage growth, preserve farmland and tackle the difficult budget issues that face our county. All this begins with you and your vote for Botelho on March 2. Together, we can make the necessary changes to protect the past and the future of San Benito County.
Anthony Botelho,
Candidate for District 2 Supervisor
