Around the Water Cooler panelists responded to this: Political calls are exempt from the Federal Do Not Call Registry. Do you think they should be exempt?
Bill Mifsud: “NO, these calls are harassing and are time wasters. It would not be so bad if there was a live person on the other end but the computer generated calls show no concern for the person they are calling. I would like to debate so of those callers but to no avail.”
Nants Foley: “I personally would hold political calls to the Do Not Call Registry. I don’t like the canned phone calls at all, and the personal one’s are not much better.”
Richard Place: “Absolutely not. It’s bad enough that we have to put up with their calls during your favorite TV program much less waking you during your nap. Just what I want now is another call for a survey by Cal Trans when the State is broke. Just fix the pot holes you guys. After the pot holes are fixed I’ll take your calls.”
Mary Zanger: “Political calls should not be exempt from the “Do Not Call” list because they are Tsetse flies. They can’t seem to be eliminated and they cause terrible plagues like rage, anger and tantrums. So let’s eliminate these calls without possibility of mutations. That includes marketing calls and worst of all Robo Calls. Robo Calls are mankind’s worst invention since wars.”
