Vladimirov receives a check from District 12 Commander Henry Wadahara and contest Chairman Curtis Martin.

The Hollister Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9242 has announced that Andrei Vladimirov, the organization’s local winner of the Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest, was also the winner of the 12th District competition.

According to the VFW in an announcement, the 12th District is from South San Francisco to King City and is the largest district, by area, in the state.

Vladimirov’s essay has been sent to Sacramento for the statewide competition. The VFW said it wanted to wish Andrei good luck.

At a ceremony in Seaside in December, Vladimirov was awarded a certificate, plaque and check for winning the 12th District contest.
