The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing Morgan Hill teen, Sierra Lamar.

Lamar, 15, has not been seen since she left for school, Ann Sobrato High School, Friday morning at 6 a.m.

Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the sheriff’s department said on Saturday at 3 p.m. that the family reported her missing Friday at 5 p.m. She never showed up to school.

Her cell phone is also not at home, Cardoza said. All calls go to her voicemail.

Lamar is described as five feet two inches tall with a thin build and dark hair. She was last seen with a black and pink “Juicy” brand purse.

The case is a unique case because there is no prior history of Lamar running away, nor are there any family issue at home, said Cardoza. Deputies are searching between the area of her home in unincorporated Morgan Hill near the intersection of Palm and Dougherty avenues and Sobrato High School.

They are asking for anyone with information to contact the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office at (408) 299-2311.
