Dear Editor,
COG is no more an “agency” than VTA is an agency. They are stand-alone, government, separate and distinct from any principal, so that cannot be an agency. The joint power authority form of government is not dependent upon a City or County for its existence, and its authority. However, COG and the other joint power authorities act in violation of our civil and constitutional rights by governing without the consent of the governed. JDA is not an “organization” any more than the City is one, or the County. In fact JDA is a transit agency, so called, even though they are not “agencies” and it is one of two such in our County, making ours the only County in the State supporting two of them. They run bankrupt empty seat transport, with public-sector union employees making good money and managers with salaries that you won’t find in the private sector carriers. Why? Because our local elected leaders worship the False God Socialism, lie to the public, use illegal accounting methods, and then scoff at any private-sector advocates.
I know. I’ve been there and been subjected to their ridicule for more than 10 years. They have us on the Road to Serfdom, and have made our County one of the Nation’s ten worst counties in America. Soon they’ll have us dead last the way they are going and you not reporting it.
