Fans of medieval times have a chance to step into a fantasy world at the Northern California Renaissance Faire Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 14 at Casa de Fruta, 10031 Pacheco Pass Highway, outside Hollister.
Upcoming themes include Bacchanal-Masquerade this weekend; Oktoberfest on Oct. 6 and 7; and Fantasy on Oct. 13 and 14. New this year there is an enchanted garden for children and revelers of all ages. Titania, the Queen of the Fairies, will dance in the trees, surrounded by woodland creatures in the garden. For those 21 and older, the Dockside Alley is new this year with a glimpse of the seedier side of medieval life.
Tickets are $25 for general admission or $35 for a weekend pass. Kids 12 and under are free. Gates open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a free Celtic rock concert on Saturdays at 6 p.m. Upcoming concerts will feature Culann’s Hounds on Sept. 29, Wicked Tinkers on Oct. 6, and Needfire on Oct. 13.
