As the elections office prepares to conduct its final counts, candidates vying for a Hollister School District board seat are separated by a single vote.

Five candidates are running for those two seats in that race – while two of four candidates vying for the two, two-year seats maintained large leads with most ballots counted.

According to the latest results in the four-year race: Michael Keith had 20.7 percent with 2,525 votes; Elizabeth Martinez had gained 20.4 percent of the vote with 2,489 votes; Ben Flores had 20.4 percent with 2,488 votes; Judi Johnson had 18.3 percent with 2,238 votes.

In the two-year race: Lupe Navarro had 35.8 percent of the vote, and Pat Moore had 30.6 percent. Randall Wilks had 20.4 percent. Melissa Constantine had 12.7 percent, according to preliminary results.

As of Wednesday morning, 12 of 22 polling precincts’ ballots had been counted, with most mail-in ballots tallied already.
