A Hollister resident was recently convicted of felony child sexual abuse and sentenced to more than 30 years in state prison, according to authorities.

The Hollister Police Department sent out a press release this week detailing the allegations, investigation and court proceedings. The investigation centered around allegations against Ray David Aparicio, 37, of Hollister, who was accused of multiple sexual abuse offenses involving a minor.

Following the police investigation, Aparicio was arrested and the case was submitted to the San Benito County District Attorney’s office for prosecution, police said. Aparicio later pleaded guilty to multiple felony offenses. A judge recently sentenced him to more than 30 years in state prison. When he completes the prison sentence, Aparicio will be required to register as a sex offender.

“The Hollister Police Department would like to thank all agencies and personnel involved in the investigation and prosecution of this case,” says the press release. “The coordination and professionalism demonstrated throughout the investigation helped ensure the case was thoroughly investigated and successfully prosecuted.”
