All K-12 schools in San Benito County and the Gilroy Unified School District are invited to participate in the sixth annual Baler Gifted Games at San Benito High School on May 13.

The event, held at Andy Hardin Field, was created to help develop a competitive athletic event for students with disabilities and give them an opportunity to learn about and compete in events that are typically not available to them.

Dave Tari and his advanced sports medicine classes will meet with local schools and teachers to develop training schedules for the various track and field events.

Organizers are seeking various donations for the event, including food items for lunches (hot dogs, buns, condiments, chips, fruit, etc.) and money to help purchase equipment.

Anyone interested in participating or offering volunteer time or tax-deductible donations may contact Life Skills teacher Tania DeLeon at (831) 637-5831, ext. 301 for more details.
