A magnitude 3.5 earthquake shook the area near San Juan Bautista on Wednesday a little after 9:30 p.m.

The earthquake occurred at 9:33 p.m. and its epicenter was located two miles south of San Juan Bautista and eight miles southwest of Hollister, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake was at a depth of 4.1 miles, according to the USGS.
