Hollister Airshow

The Hollister Airshow will be held at the Hollister Municipal Airport May 28 and 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature aerobatic performances, static aircraft displays, fly-ins, food booths, aviation collectibles, raffle prizes and children’s activities. Temple Garden meeting

Story time in San Juan

Julie Engelhardt will be hosting free story times at the San Juan Bautista Library, 801 Second St., in San Juan Bautista, May 19, June 2 and June 16, at 10 a.m. The programs run 45 minutes long. Historical Park activities set

The San Benito County Historical Park will host several events June 4, including an Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Show that will be open all day. Admission is free and will feature antique engine and tractor displays, and demonstrations. Food will be available for purchase and there will be entertainment and a playground area for kids. There will also be a barn sale, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spaces are available for $10. Residents can sell items or search for a special treasure to buy. Wine tasting

A wine tasting will also be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and door prizes. Food will be provided by “Spice of Life Catering” and entertainment will be provided by the San Benito Stage Company and Mr. Ostenson’s Save the Music Drive. Historical Society meeting

The San Juan Historical Society will hold a meeting June 4 with a fundraiser luncheon sponsored by the Native Daughters of the Golden West. The quarterly meeting is open to the public. Saddle Horse Show & Rodeo

The San Benito County Saddle Horse Show & Rodeo kicks off with the Miss San Benito Rodeo contest June 11, at 9 a.m., at the fairgrounds. A memorial roping event will be held June 18, at 9 a.m., free to spectators. On June 19, there will be figure-8 roping eliminations, free to spectators. June 23 will be the Saddle Horse Parade in downtown Hollister, at 6 p.m. June 24 will have a variety of events, including the horse show and rodeo at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for toddlers through 11-year-olds. The rodeo continues June 25 and 26, at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $4 for kids. Other attractions include a Kids Corral, the Association Museum and a rodeo clown. Wag ‘n Walk

Pet Friends Rescue will host the Wag ‘n Walk June 11, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Graniterock Southside Sand and Gravel plant, 5362 Airline Hwy., in Hollister. Guests can choose between a 5K run or a 5K walk for dog owners who would like to bring along a dog. Pre-registration is due May 27, with admission $15 per individual or $40 for a family of four. Mission Fiesta

The Old Mission San Juan Bautista will host its annual fiesta honoring St. John the Baptist, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the olive grove adjacent to the mission. The event includes a chicken barbecue for $10 a plate provided by the San Juan Service Club, as well as bingo, game booths for children, ethnic food and beverage booths. Following the mass, there will be a processional through town with Aztec dancers. There will be raffle drawings held for cash prizes. Summer movies series

A summer series will kick off June 24 at the San Juan Bautista Elementary soccer field, with a viewing of “Megamind.” All viewings are free and start at sunset. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No alcoholic beverages are permitted. The series is a collaboration of the Plaza History Association of San Juan Bautista State Historic Park and the San Juan Elementary home and school club. Earthbound Farms is a sponsor. Other shows include “Raiders of the Lost Ark” on July 29, “Despicable Me” on Aug. 26 and “Vertigo” on Sept. 30.

Monterey Bay Blues Festival

Tickets are on sale for the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, which runs June 24, 25 and 26.
