America’s birthday is around the corner and a new party is coming to town – guaranteed to rock your patriotic socks off. God Bless America Celebration 2011 debuts at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center on July 4 in downtown immediately after the parade.

With an estimated 75,000 to 100,000 folks attending the much-anticipated parade, the organizers of God Bless America Celebration are prepped to entertain the masses after the last float leaves Monterey Road. Bring your favorite chair and get there early to secure a good spot at the community center, 17000 Monterey Road near Dunne Avenue.

The celebration from 1 to 6 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater includes a line up of patriotic and gospel entertainment, featuring five hours of live music.

Hungry and thirsty revelers can eat delicious food. For the little ones, there’s the kids’ zone with bounce houses, clowns, face painting, balloon twisting and entertainers. The U.S. Marine Corps will present the American flag in a special ceremony.

Steven Lopez Productions and Michael-John Ministries collaborated on this free event for everyone to enjoy. Lopez worked in promotional marketing for more than two decades and served in the Marines Corps and Naval Reserve.

“Our forefathers trusted God from the beginning to establish this great nation,” Lopez said. “We wish to honor God and those who gave their lives for our country, buying us our freedom. God Bless America Celebration calls everyone to be united under God to serve the community and the nation.”

“We salute those who served or who are currently serving in the armed forces,” he added. “We also want to publicly thank all military, first responders: police, fire and paramedic personnel for serving.”

Michael-John Toste, minister of Acts Revival Center, said, “I do events occasionally, but mostly larger ones. I produced the 9/11 tribute in 2002 in Washington D.C., titled ‘Washington DC Honors America’s Heroes of Freedom.’ We honored the Pentagon families with a star-studded show for the one-year anniversary after the terrorist attacks. The orphans, widows and families of the Pentagon families were blessed and so happy that they were not forgotten a year later. God Bless America Celebration will be presented in the same patriotic spirit.”

Both Lopez and Toste know it takes hard work to create a successful production.

“It takes time, creativity and a lot of volunteers who share the vision,” Toste said. “Steven, the Acts Revival Center volunteers and myself worked together to make this possible.”

Lopez added, “I thank God for the many volunteers I had over the past 25 years. Without them, I would not have been able to make events happen. Volunteers are the true backbone of any event.”

Toste invites everyone to join in the celebration.

“Join us in acknowledging God’s rich blessing upon our nation as we give thanks in hope for a better future during these challenging times.”
