Did you know the No. 1 reason for swing problems is your address position? Your grip, stance, alignment, grip pressure and posture are all part of your address position.

Jack Nicklaus stated that all golfers can be as good as he is before starting their swing, but very few are. If you are aimed in the wrong direction, do you blame your alignment or your swing?

Most golfers do not realize their alignment is to the right or left of the target and think there is something wrong with their swing. Most golfers use a comfortable grip over the correct grip, causing a bad slice. Many golfers have too wide of a stance, but don’t understand why they have poor weight transfer in their swing.

So next time you are having problems with your swing, check out your address position. During many of my lessons, I find my students have a pretty good swing, but they are lined up 20 to 40 yards off line. With more help in your alignment, swing by Ridgemark and have one of our teaching professionals help line you up to a better game.
