Alexander Engelhardt earns Eagle Scout rank
Alexander Engelhardt, son of Donald and Julia Engelhardt, was
awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on April 21. His rank advancement
will be celebrated at a National Scout Court of Honor Aug. 6.
Engelhardt is a member of Troop 436 in Hollister, sponsored by the
Exchange Club. His service project was to collect food and supplies
for Pet Friends, a nonprofit organization that benefits homeless
companion animals.

Alexander Engelhardt, son of Donald and Julia Engelhardt, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on April 21. His rank advancement will be celebrated at a National Scout Court of Honor Aug. 6. Engelhardt is a member of Troop 436 in Hollister, sponsored by the Exchange Club. His service project was to collect food and supplies for Pet Friends, a nonprofit organization that benefits homeless companion animals.
Together with assistance from his troop, Engelhardt collected more than 1,200 pounds of supplies. During his time with Troop 436, he held the ranks of Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader.One of the highlights of his scouting career includes participating in the National Scout Jamboree in 2010 with Jamboree Troop 634 of the Monterey Bay Area Council.
Francesca Damkar named to Dean’s List
Francesca Damkar, a senior majoring in human communication, was named to the Dean’s List at California State University, Monterey Bay for the spring semester. The Dean’s List recognizes students who have achieved a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 for a course load of at least 12 credits.
Damkar, daughter of Harry and Madeline Damkar of Hollister, is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Salinas.
