Five residents sworn in as court advocates

On October 3, Judge Steven Sanders swore in five community members who recently completed training as Court Appointed Special Advocates. Each can now be assigned to one of the children in the county’s foster care system who are on CASA’s waiting list for an advocate. The children are part of the dependency system because of parental abuse or neglect.

CASA can recruit and train new advocates through grants from the Community Foundation for San Benito County and United Way of San Benito County.

For more information about the CASA program please contact CASA of San Benito County at 831-637-4992.
