Mark Tating graduates basic
Air Force Airman Mark A. Tating graduated from basic military
training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that
included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force
core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and
skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an
associate in applied science degree through the Community College
of the Air Force.
He is the son of Marilyn Wriddle of Chappell Road,
Hollister.
Tating is a 2009 graduate of San Benito High School.

She is the daughter of Kaye Nelson of Franklin St., San Juan Bautista and granddaughter of Virginia Shaw of El Toro Drive, Hollister.
Nelson is a 2007 graduate of Anzar High School.
Justine Hunter named to Dean’s List
Justine Hunter, a freshman at Pepperdine University’s Seaver College, made the Dean’s List for Fall 2009.
In order to earn Dean’s List honors, students must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade point average. This year Hunter, a native of Hollister, is one of only 286 students to receive the honor.
Seaver College, located in Malibu, is the undergraduate school of Pepperdine University.
