The San Benito County Historical Society expects on Saturday to relocate one of the original hose companies for the Hollister Fire Department to its park along Airline Highway.

Hose Company No. 2, located in Swope Alley, was part of the original organization of the department in 1875, when there was one hook-and-ladder company and two hose companies formed, according to the historical society. The structure’s owner, Martin Arias, is donating it to the historical society.

The Hollister Fire Department’s union also is helping with a donation and volunteer support. The firehouse will be an “exciting addition” to the Historical Park, according to the society.

Organizers expect the removal to occur around 8 a.m. Saturday.
