YMCA charity golf tournament, dinner and dance
The YMCA of San Benito County will hold its 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at San Juan Oaks, Sept. 17, with a dinner and dance to follow. The fee to enter is $130 a per person and includes green fees, cat, range balls, lunch, dinner and awards. There is a $20 fun package that includes Mulligan, prizes, on course games and refreshments. Dinner only is $35 a person. Registration for the tournament begins at 11 a.m., with a shotgun start at noon. Carole Belliveau show on display
The Blak Sage Gallery of Fine Art, 727 San Benito St., will host Carole Belliveau as the featured artist through Sept. 29. Suicide Prevention of the Central Coast is seeking walkers and volunteers for its fourth annual Coastal Trail Walk, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. The event is a commemoration of World Suicide Prevention Day and also promotes announce of the organization, which handles a 24-hour, multilingual Suicide and Crisis Hotline; educational presentations and trainings; support for at-risk adults and those grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. The Coastal Trail Walk takes place at the scenic Window on the Bay Park, in Monterey, across Del Monte Avenue, from Lake El Estero. The walk goes toward Pacific Grove and back. Movies in the Park
The Plaza History Association presents Movies in the Park. The last screening is “Vertigo” on Sept. 24. The Showtime will be sunset. The 50th annual Great Sand Castle Contest will be held at Carmel Beach, between 10th and 12th, Oct. 3. The event is cosponsored by the American Institute of Architects- Monterey Bay Chapter and the city of Carmel-by-the-sea. The theme will be announced two weeks before the event. Registration takes place on the beach before the event, and builders can begin work on their castles at 8 a.m. Judging will take place from noon to 2 p.m.
