Fantasy football season takes a rough turn
It’s been a little chilly these days down in South County. I
think we’re going to receive a visit from Jack Frost pretty soon!
It’s about that time of year, though. Once Halloween hits, we’re on
the holiday roll from there.
Get well soon wishes go out to Sandy Rose who had a hip
replacement last week. She is home and doing well. Her daughter
Tammy came home from Reno for a few days to help out. Luckily for
Tammy, a Giants season ticket holder, the World Series started
while she was here so she and her dad, George, were able to attend
Game One of the World Series on Wednesday night.

San Benito High School celebrated its homecoming last week while King City High School celebrated a few weeks before that. Lots of South County kids attended the games and dances for both schools. Buddy was chosen “Duke” of the Sophomore class at King City High. He wasn’t too happy that he had to wear a tuxedo during crowning ceremonies at half time of the game. I was happy though as he looked so handsome in his tux!

The PBR World Finals ended last Sunday in Las Vegas. Hollister’s Brendon Clark covered two out of five bulls. He may not have had the finals he hoped for, but we’re so happy for him that he was there. The next big thing in Vegas is the NFR in December, which many people will be attending as well.

Many South County kids will be heading in different directions this weekend for high school rodeos. We’ll be heading south to Santa Ynez for a District 7 rodeo while many District 4 kids will be heading to Riverdale. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Kory Hitchcock is on a roll in our fantasy football league; she’s way ahead of everybody else. My team is so bad that I’ve finally decided that my allegiance and loyalty to Jay Cutler has got to go. My boys can officially tell me “I told you so.” As big a football fan as I am, I am embarrassed about my fantasy team. And, to top that off, my Broncos were humiliated last week by none other than the dreaded Raiders. Ugh, football can’t get any worse for me this season. And thanks to all of you that “didn’t” call me while the Broncos were getting annihilated on Sunday, and to those who did, just wait until they play again. Ha ha!

Some important elections are coming up next week. If you are voting absentee, be sure to get your ballots in ASAP. This is a very important election year. At least all the commercials will stop next week!

Bitterwater Tully School is hosting its annual Halloween Party at Tully Hall on Friday night. The event will go from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone.
