The foreclosure slide continued through the holidays in San Benito County with 206 filings in December, according to data from Irvine-based RealtyTrac.
That was a 36 percent increase over the prior month – when there was 151 foreclosure filings – and a 124 percent hike over the same period in 2007, according to the most recent report.
San Benito County now ranks eighth-worst in California for highest per-capita foreclosure filings, with one in every 87 homes experiencing some stage of the process.
