“She Loves Me – The Musical” San Benito Stage Company presents “She Loves Me – The Musical” at Leal Vineyards, 300 Maranatha Dr., in Hollister, every Friday and Saturday in February through Feb. 28. “Self-Help” Pintello Comedy Theater presents “Self-Help” at the Gilroy Grange Hall, 8191 Swanston Lane, in Gilroy. Shows will be held every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. through Feb. 28 with one Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on Feb. 15. The play tells the story of Cindy and Hal Savage, a couple of struggling actors who decide to cash in on the Self-Help trend by becoming phony self-awareness gurus.

“Così Fan Tutte” Opera San Jose will open its 25th season with its presentation of “Così Fan Tutte,” at 8 p.m. and running weekends through Sunday, Feb. 22 at its opera house, 2149 Paragon Dr. Sung in Italian with English supertitles, “Così Fan Tutte” is both a comedy and tragedy, telling the story of a group of young lovers willing to wager on their partner’s fidelity.

Chowder cook-off The 28th Annual Clam Chowder Cook-off will be held today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Teams of chowder chefs from all over the West Coast will be competing for the title of “Best Clam Chowder” by cooking their best red or white chowder. Admission is free. Tasting kits are available for $8 per person. The competition includes three divisions: Professional (restaurants, caterers, food service), Individual and Corporate/Media. Make A Blanket Day The San Benito Chapter of Project Linus is hosting “Make A Blanket Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hollister United Methodist Church, 521 Monterey St.

The group is collecting new hand-made washable blankets, yarn and monetary donations. Project Linus gives security blankets to local children who are traumatized or seriously ill.

Cartwheel-a-Thon USA Sports, 864 Industrial Dr., in Hollister will be hosting Flips’ and USA Sports’ 2nd Annual Cartwheel-a-Thon and fitness open house today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature the Cartweel-A-Thon by the gymnasts as well as fitness information, a fitness challenge and a station where people can learn to do a cartwheel. Path of the Padres. San Luis Reservoir State Recreation Area will be again leading the popular “Path of the Padres” hikes on some Fridays and most Saturdays and Sundays. Hikes are open to the public, ages 6 and older, by advance reservation only. School group hikes may be arranged for Fridays. “From the Archives of Jo Mora” The Monterey History and Art Association will be hosting the exhibit “From the Archives of Jo Mora” at the Monterey Maritime and History Museum, 5 Custom House Plaza, starting today through May 25. The museum is free and open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mora, born in 1876, was a sculptor, painter, author and multi-talented man who worked as an Indian language interpreter for the U.S. Army. He designed the commemorative half dollar for the 75th anniversary of California’s statehood. The work on display is a cross-section of Mora’s achievements. For more information, call 372-2608.

Blood Drive Old Mission San Juan Bautista is sponsoring a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at Casa Maria at the old Mission, 600 First St. The bloodmobile will be in the parking lot, and staff from the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula’s Blood Center will be there.
