New bishop for Latter-Day Saints
Andy Chatham has been called as the new bishop of the Hollister
Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He
replaces Gary Cameron who served as bishop for five years.
Monterey Diocese has new spokesperson

The Diocese of Monterey, which encompasses San Benito County, has appointed Warren Hoy as a spokeperson for the diocese.

Hoy earned his master’s degree in pastoral studies through the LIMEX program at Loyola University in New Orleans, and has a broad background in ministry work. He served as the coordinator and registrar for the English as a Second Language program for more than 750 students at a Catholic Charities in Virginia. He has a strong interest in social justice – and has volunteered in homeless shelters, food banks and migrant worker programs. He speaks, reads and writes Spanish as well as several other languages. He and his wife Vickie live in the Monterey area.

Hoy is a retired Army officer who currently works at the Naval Postgraduate School as an operations office for the Global Center for Security Cooperation. He coordinates overseas programs with 13 defense department schools. He replaces Kevin Drabinski who has served as a spokesperson for six years.
