Summer celebrations abound in South County
People are keeping plenty busy these days in South County. The
days are going by so fast it’s going to be back to school time
before we know it.
Birthday wishes go out to Bob Schmidt who celebrated his 96th
birthday July 23. Jeff and Shari Popnoe hosted a small birthday
gathering for him at their home in Ridgemark last Friday evening.
Some of those joining them included Vern and Jo Ann Scattini, Jeff
and Jean Schmidt, Ted and Diane Schmidt and family friend,
Maggie.

Birthday wishes go out to Bob Schmidt who celebrated his 96th birthday July 23. Jeff and Shari Popnoe hosted a small birthday gathering for him at their home in Ridgemark last Friday evening. Birthday wishes also go out to Cash Robinson who celebrated his 14th birthday July 22 and to Hec Hurley, Lila Bell and my Dad who all celebrated on the 27th. Dawson Bell will be celebrating his birthday August 1st.

The annual Driscoll Ranch Rodeo was held last weekend in La Honda and many South County folks headed that way to participate and to beat the heat. Some of those traveling there for the weekend included: Davie and Ellie Porteur, Cash Robinson, Brody Sans, Hec, Kasey and Taylor Hurley, Lee Whitney, and Colleen and Vickie Sabin, just to name a few. Of course, they all had another great time.

June and Steve Rianda hosted an engagement party for their son John and his fiancee, Kyla Prunty, last Saturday evening at their home in Greenfield. Some of those enjoying the evening included: Les and Betty Sans, Todd and Wendy Sans, Vern and Jo Ann Scattini, Billy and Karen Whitney, Don and Barb DeRosa, Stan and Jamie Pura, John and Jae Eade, Bret Bonfantini and Barbara Hearne, Ben Rianda and Wyatt and Lacey Bourdett, along with the entire Rianda family. John and Kyla haven’t set a date yet, but it should be sometime in 2010. Congratulations, guys!

Alex Romans, Nate and Cindy Holiday and Rick and Maureen Harris branded some of their calves last weekend in Greenfield at the Anthony corrals. Some of those helping out included: Jeremy James, Brittani Nielson, Ben Rianda, Katie and Justin Harris, Cipriano and Aruroa Rangel, Brandon Webb, Todd and I. A delicious barbecue was served when we were through roping.
