Firefighters work to fight the blaze from the air, near the intersection of Pacheco Pass Highway and Bloomfield Avenue, east of Gilroy, that began about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters working with pilots to cut off a 112-acre
vegetation fire at a Pacheco Pass landfill by 3 p.m., preventing
the flames from hitting a series of methane pipes that could have
added a dangerous source of fuel to the blaze, according to
emergency officials. In this video, we show you footage of
firefighters attacking the blaze from the air and ground, and show
you how firefighters and landfill staff towed a stuck fire engine
out of the shoulder of a road.
