The Anna Caballero for Senate campaign committee announced Wednesday that Assemblymember Anna Caballero will officially kick-off her candidacy for California State Senator for District 12 this week and hold press conferences throughout District 12 today.
“I have received calls from people throughout the District and the State, urging me to run for the State Senate Seat. I listened carefully and weighed each call to make my decision”, stated Assemblymember Anna Caballero, in a press release. “It has been an honor serving in the State Legislature, and I look forward to continuing to serve in this new capacity.”
As a member of the California State Legislature, Caballero has weighed in on such issues in the 28th Assembly District such as water, the economy, jobs, agriculture, healthcare, and public safety. Caballero is also Chair of the Committee on Local Government, in Sacramento.
“My focus is on finding solutions as quickly as possible to help resolve these issues”, stated Caballero. “This is why I am honored to have been appointed by Speaker Karen Bass to represent California at this week’s public hearing on California’s Water crisis, in Washington, D.C.”
Caballero’s Friday meetings will include her campaign launch as well as briefing on the outcome of public hearings put together by the U.S. Department of Interior Wednesday to discuss water issues in California.
